Sunshine Blogger Award

Hello friends! I am so excited and honored to announce that my friend Heather J. Snyder nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award! This is the second time I've been chosen for this award by my peers and I'm happy to participate again. This news made my day because it is always special to know that others love my blog and understand all the hard work I put into it.

I started this website because of the books that I published, but it has become so much more. It's given me the incredible opportunity to connect with other individuals who love books. This community of readers, bloggers, and authors is so special, and I am grateful to the Lord to work with each of them.

Sunshine Blogger Award Rules:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you in the blog post and link back to their blog.
  2. Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
  3. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  4. List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

My Answers to the 11 Questions from Heather:

1. What (or who) inspired you to become a blogger?  As I was writing my first novel, I researched other authors and realized blogs are a great way to engage with your readers on a consistent basis.

2. What is your favorite genre to read?  Without a doubt, I love Christian Historical Romance best of all. Especially the Regency, Western, and Pioneer time periods.

3. What has been your favorite book in 2019 thus far? A Changed Agent by Tracey J. Lyons. What attracted me first to the book was that the setting is the Adirondack Mountains, which is where my father-in-law grew up. We still have family living there. I also liked the cover and the description of the book.

4. If you could take a vacation anywhere, what destination would you choose and why? England, because I've never traveled there and I love reading books in the Regency England time period. I'd love to see London and Bath and many other places mentioned in Regency Novels. I'd even like to see Gretna Green where people went to elope.

5. Who inspired your love of reading? My mother and grandmother, who both enjoyed reading. Also, an elementary school teacher used to read a chapter to us from a fiction book each day until the book was finished. It was so hard having to wait for the next day to find out what happened, but it taught me how fun fictions can be.

6. What was your favorite book as a child? Ramona, the Pest. Lol! I also enjoyed Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.

7. What is one of your favorite songs?  Do It Again by Elevation Worship

8. What do you love most about blogging?  When something I write is helpful or encouraging to others.

9. Has blogging brought any unforeseen challenges or difficulties?  Yes. What should I write about this week? I'm always looking for topics and ideas. Then I have to ask myself, what do I have to say about that topic?

10. What advice would you give to other bloggers?  Be genuine and be yourself.

11. Of all the blog posts you’ve written, which is your favorite? Please post the link. That's a difficult question to answer, but if I have to choose, I think I would choose the blog I recently wrote for a pastor friend called Listening Prayer.
