First Line Friday #57

Folks, it's now less than two weeks before Christmas! Woohoo!! Actually, TEN MORE DAY!!!! Family who we only see a few times a year will be arriving. Gifts are wrapped. Cookies have been baked. Plans are all in place along with games and prizes. Let the celebration begin!!!

I'm featuring another Christmas novel this week. It's actually a book I'm currently reading and enjoying. The book is called, Once Upon a Texas Christmas by Winnie Griggs. I don't know if you've read any of Winnie's books, but she is a gifted writer.

"Check and mate." Seth Reynolds leaned back in his seat, a satisfied grin on his face.

Abigail Fulton is determined to become independent so she can move out of her brother's house. He and his wife had graciously welcomed her. But with another baby on the way, she knew they needed the extra room. She hopes to become the manager of the hotel in town. But she must first work with Seth Reynolds to renovate the property by Christmas.

Much is at stake for Seth. This hotel project is just what he needs to be able to prove himself. Upon arriving in town, Seth finds out he has to work with Abigail and he isn't pleased about it. He judges her by appearance and is certain she isn't capable to handle such a job. Although his displeasure is evident, Abigail is not easily intimidated. What she doesn't realize is that the job has already been promised to someone else.
