First Line Friday #56

Happy Christmas Season!!!! I sure do love all the holiday celebrations, especially since my family is coming from other states to visit. Woohoo! These are definitely the best of times!I'm currently sitting in my family room and, as I look out the window, I see about four inches of snow on the grown and on top of the Christmas lights. The branches of our spruce trees in the backyard are weighed down with snow. It's a winter wonderland and the perfect time to share a Christmas novel with you.Today, I am featuring The Christmas Mail Order Bride by Kit Morgan. I read this several years ago so I can't remember the story but since I kept it in my library, I imagine it was a good one. I plan to re-read it this month.

New Orleans, October 1870

Summer James sat outside Mrs. Ridgley's office and listened in horror to the conversation going on inside.
