I've gotten into Sally Britton's Regency series, Branches of Love, which started with "The Social Tutor." I featured that one on First Line Friday #27 back in May. I just finished reading "His Bluestocking Bride" and I greatly enjoyed it. Another sweet and clean romance. I will share the first line from that one this week.
"Ellen flicked a black curl from her forehead, but the irksome spiral just bounced back."
Marcus Calvert must marry to inherit his estate. He's still nursing a broken heart and has no interest in love, so he enters a marriage of convenience with Ellen Bringhurst. What he doesn't know is that Ellen has been in love with him since their shared childhood. After they are married, Marcus finds more to admire in his childhood friend than he ever thought possible. Now it’s your turn. First Line Friday is something every reader can participate in. Pick up a book near you. Type the first line in the comments, along with the title of the book and the author. If you’d like, check out the books other readers have featured on their blogs by clicking on the Hoarding Books link at the end of this post.
